Our mission

We are building a global movement of reformers working to open up and transform public procurement so it delivers better results for people, fair competition, and a more sustainable future.

Why

One out of every three Euros spent by governments goes into public procurement. Yet, it is often a 'black box', underfunded, bureaucratic and prone to corruption. We believe government spending should be an open book.

By opening up public contracting, we save billions, deter corruption, create a level playing field for businesses, invest in more sustainable communities, and ensure public services meet the needs of the people.

What we do

With its large, competitive economy and strong regional legislative framework, our work in Europe and globally enables us to test new ideas for implementing open contracting approaches, scale successful models, and inspire the global community to replicate them. Tapping into a diverse and active community allows us to ensure accountability and transparency of spending across the continent.

    We are building a coalition of change of governments, civil society organizations, knowledge institutions, companies, and international partners

Who we are

Stichting voor Open Contracting is an independent charitable foundation based in the Netherlands. We are part of a global movement working alongside our U.S.-based sister organization Open Contracting Partnership to bring transparency and integrity to government spending across Europe and beyond.
